Sir Michael Wilshaw would like to see inspectors based locally and helping struggling schools (“No escape as Ofsted plots to extend its reach”, 23 March). Has he heard of local authorities? Wasn’t that part of their role before government cuts made many locally based inspectors and advisers redundant?
