The Institution of Occupational Safety and Health has created a free online resource to prepare teenagers for their first experience of work. Anyone working with young people can use the activities on Wiseup2work as part of induction training, work experience preparation or classroom lessons. The site is designed to raise pupils’ awareness of issues such as health and safety. In the StyleUp section, users can choose a job and find out about the typical hazards faced when carrying it out. In the LinkUp forum students can chat about work-related issues or ask for advice. Every message is checked by a moderating team before it is posted.

There is also a free monthly prize draw where users can win pound;50 worth of high street vouchers. www.wiseup2work.co.uk
