Worriers are two or three times more likely to suffer from asthma and are more prone to accidents, writes Ruth Brown.

A report - No Worries? Young People and Mental Health - from the Health Education Unit showed 27.5 per cent of Year 8 and 10 pupils surveyed were moderate to significant worriers. While acknowledging asthma as a physical condition, the report said “wheezing” was two or three times higher among the worriers.
