The imposition of fees for instrumental tuition and the offer of free instruments carried on the wrapper of a popular chocolate biscuit have come together in the mind of one Glasgow secondary headteacher.

He suggests that parents should save the wrappers but instead of sending them to the school for forwarding to the manufacturer they should send them to the local education offices. “If we get enough, they might just send us free music lessons in return.”
