With pound;50,000 still available for state-funded schools in England that want to work with writers, the deadline for the Writing Together Schools Challenge has been extended to February 28. Primary, secondary and special schools can apply for pound;250-pound;750 for a short-term writer’s residency of one to three days, with up to pound;1,000 available if more than one school is involved. Some cash is earmarked for schools that have not worked with writers before, or have not done so for five years.
