Not for the first time Quintilian’s ramblings seem totally inappropriate for inclusion under the heading of School Boards Forum (TESS2, February 23). The sentiments expressed may have their place elsewhere in your publication as general comment, but why try to pass them off as being solely for school boards?

Contrast this with Joan Sallis’s weekly Agenda feature. The questions and answers are invariably useful and relevant to school governors. Unfortunately they are not always applicable to Scottish school boards.

You could serve boards far better by having a much more practical column dealing with matters of interest relating to the functioning of boards.
