IN the article “Furthers may fly” in the TES Special Report, Learning Reforms (February 28), one of our research managers, Maggie Greenwood, was quoted as saying that “LSDA (Learning and Skills Development Agency) has misgivings about dividing universities into teaching and learning institutions”. This is not what she said. The quote should have said that we had misgivings about separating teaching and research institutions, as the next paragraph outlined.
Another paragraph reads, “better measures are needed for helping teachers understand the quality of teaching”. This should read learners or students - not teachers.
