Year of the makeover

Reform of the workforce is the biggest challenge facing schools in 2005, according to a survey of more than 800 heads and deputies. More than half senior staff questioned by the National College for School Leadership named remodelling as their priority. Personalising the curriculum to fit pupils'

needs was second with 17 per cent, while 10 per cent cited inclusion and behaviour.
