A course book for classes taking Higher modern studies has been produced by educational publishers Leckie and Leckie.
It covers the three units of the course and each study theme, ranging across issues as diverse as the Scottish Parliament, wealth and health inequalities in the UK, and global security.
The 329 pages of notes have already sparked considerable interest, the company says, with orders for 2,300 units in the first week alone.
The book includes “for you to do” questions to reinforce pupils’ learning throughout the course, internet tasks to help pupils take their research beyond the text, and “world bank” features for them to build up a bank of the terminologies used.
