TEENAGE mothers in Northern Ireland will get extra help and advice with Barnardo’s young parents’ network’s new poster, information card and website: www.youngmums.org.uk Network members are part of the School Age Mothers steering group which supports girls with 16-week programmes to continue their education and advise on health and childcare. Most teenage pregnancies are to 17 to 19-year-olds, but figures show that around 12 per cent of about 1,700 births are to mothers of compulsory school age.
