Young players join drive to make bridge an Olympic game

A GROUP of primary pupils are helping to rid bridge of its uncool “blue-rinse” image and prove that it is a sport worthy of inclusion in the Olympics. The England Bridge Union has been monitoring the development of members of the lunchtime bridge club at St Paul’s primary, Manchester. It hopes that their progress will support its case for the game to get Olympic status as a “mind game”. Bridge is said to improve maths, social skills, memory and concentration.
