(Photograph) - 60 sixth-form students and 50 teachers at Philip Morant technology college in Colchester, Essex, have been given Compaq iPAQ Pocket PCs for its “Learning at Your Fingertips” initiative. It aims to help pupils get higher than expected results, increase ICT competence and will serve as a reserch project for the use of pocket PCs in education. The remaining 50 staff will get an iPAQ in the summer term. Compaq, Microsoft, Digital Brain, RSA, ICM Computer Group and the Technology Colleges Trust are sponsoring the project.www.learningatyourfingertips.com. Photograph by JACKIE CHAPMAN.
