At a recent Glasgow screening of a French children’s film, pupils and teachers got more than they bargained for on the vocabulary front.
The accompanying subtitles had pupils desperately trying to work out which French word meant what, in a story where young boys were frequently discussing their developing sexual knowledge.
Teachers around the cinema were seen squirming uncomfortably, while their very 21st century charges presented a much more sophisticated, er, front.
No doubt this stimulating experience will be richly repaid when they have to sit their next exam.
