Sleigh Dash (Christmas musical notation note value game)

Race to fill Santa's sleigh in this fast-paced musical notation game. Santa has received a lot of questions in the children's Christmas letters this year. If you can help him answer them, he'll be able to collect enough presents to fill his sleigh! Each player draws seven value cards (quavers/eighth notes, crotchets/quarter notes, dotted crotchets/dotted quarter notes, minims/half notes, dotted minims/dotted half notes and semibreves/whole notes) as well as the equivalent rests. The first player to answer Santa's question correctly, using their cards, wins a present. Santa's questions feature filling a bar in 2/4, 3/4 and 4/4 time, finding note and rest equivalents, addition and subtraction with musical notes, and balancing a seesaw with equivalent note lengths. Presents are drawn at random - your younger pupils will love seeing what they get. The winner is either the first person to win x number of presents or the person with the most presents after x minutes have elapsed. Sleigh Dash will give your students the practice they need to know their note values inside out.

Complete Clarinet Scales Cards for ABRSM Exams 2017-18 Grades 1 to 8

(0)
This set has cards for every single possible scale combination for the ABRSM clarinet exams grades 1 to 8. Simply print out the page(s) for your student's grade and give them the sheets. They can then cut out the cards and place them in a pot/jar/bag. When they practise, they can pick them out at random to ensure they are practising all of their scales. For grades with more scales, they can sort them into different pots as they play through them - confident, needs some more practice, needs a lot more practice. They should then pick from the "needs a lot more practice" pot most frequently, until eventually all of the scales are in the "confident" pot. Each card tells the student which scale to play, whether it should be tongued or slurred (or, for higher grades, legato-tongued, staccato or slurred) and how many octaves should be played. It is just like having the teacher or examiner giving instructions, and it will ensure students are accustomed to playing each scale on demand. This resource can be used with every single one of your clarinet students as they progress through the grades. NB: I'm not affiliated with ABRSM in any way.
