The Diary is pondering a letter to The TES from the stylishly apostrophe’d Bene’t Steinberg, of the OCR exam board, in which he announces that the board has appointed a PR agency. All quite understandable since marking test papers has become such a controversial occupation.
But what is bewildering is that after telling us that the Bright Consultancy will be pro-active in telling us about “new initiatives”, Bene’t asks intrepid reporters with queries to put them to OCR direct, rather than bothering the ace spinners at Bright Consultancy. “Believe me,” says Bene’t, “it will be quicker for you doing it this way!”
