The TES Scotland is pleased to announce it is teaming up with the Scottish Executive as media partner in a Celebrating Success initiative to spread the word about the good work going on in Scottish schools. Schools have already been invited to become involved and showcase their activities, in a move backed by the leading educational organisations in Scotland.

There will be a special celebratory focus on St Andrew’s Day, with schools encouraged to hold their own events and to brand features of their work under the Celebrating Success logo throughout the year. A special website is being set up by the executive so schools can share what they are doing with others.

Peter Peacock, the Education Minister, said: “I take every opportunity to tell people what great places our schools are. But I am just one voice and I want you, your staff and your pupils to add your voice so that we can shout about the good work that is going on in our schools day in, day out.

I want us collectively to celebrate our success.”

Among the ideas suggested are exhibitions of pupils’ art, pupil competitions, talent shows and joint celebrations with twin schools in other countries.
