CONGRATULATIONS to Nottingham University, picked by Tony Blair as home of the new leadership college.
Of course Nottingham has already found favour with one of Tony’s close pals - Chris Woodhead. It co-ordinates one of his pet projects, the national outstanding primary schools’ teacher training initiative. Not only that, but we gather the man in charge, Professor David Hopkins, is a regular Woodhead climbing partner.
Unfortunately, even that dizzying level of patronage cannot afford total protection. The consortium has just received its first OFSTED inspection, and less than glowing it is, with some Grade 3s - one above failure.
Good to know inspections are impartial.
