The biggest primary in Scotland is holding a Healthy Choices fortnight for its 900 pupils - all 28 classes of them. Mearns Primary is targeting eight well-being indicators to ensure pupils are active, respected, responsible, included, safe, healthy, achieving and nurtured. Pupils will get the chance to experience activities such as skateboarding, curling, yoga, karate, athletics and streetdance. They will also have visits from former Scotland rugby star Gregor Townsend, the Glasgow Science Centre, skincare specialists and others. They will be involved in Fair Trade and eco activities promoting outdoor learning, and conclude the fortnight with an assembly celebrating the healthy choices they can make in their lives.
