The Tes news team discuss the latest news from Sir Kevan Collins, the government’s coronavirus catch-up tsar, including his idea that schools should have more say over the National Tutoring Programme, and the need for catch-up to be properly funded.

As Sir Kevan points out, he has “nothing to lose” in his new role and is there to ”stop bad things happening”.

And we look at the latest story in our investigation on whether online GCSEs and A levels could be introduced in the near future.

Finally, we discuss the news that England’s OECD Programme for International Student Assessment (Pisa) rankings excluded low achievers, with experts calling on the UK Statistics Authority to investigate the matter.
