E-marking trial

Let me be clear: Edexcel's external assessment team will not be replaced by computers. They remain essential to our assessment programme. We will not be running the computer-marking scheme on live exam papers in 2007. Student essays will not be marked by computers. If any trial takes place, it will simply be to look at how sophisticated these new technologies are. It could be that this technology might act as another level of checks to improve the accuracy in the marking process of the future.
