International Kids' Lit Quiz

1st April 2005 at 01:00
A group of children's authors, including Philip Pullman, helped raise the money to send a team of youngsters to New Zealand to take part in the final of the international Kids' Lit Quiz.

Pupils from Cherwell School in Oxford were the UK winners of the competition, sponsored by The TES, which aims to reward keen readers. But they had to raise pound;7,000 to attend the final. That total was reached after Mr Pullman and Carnegie medal winner Jan Mark joined a fundraising quiz night at the school last week.
