Aoc Student Winners: What The Award Means To Them

It’s that time of year again.

The Tes Schools Awards are back and this year will be a chance, once more, to celebrate some of the outstanding work taking place in our schools during these unprecedented times.

Whether you want to shout about your school’s brilliant use of technology, creativity or collaboration, a valued classroom assistant or a truly extraordinary headteacher, we want to hear from you - starting right now.

Tes Awards 2020:

Entries for the 2021 awards open today, Friday 5 February, and close on 19 March.

The shortlist will then be announced on 14 May, ahead of our awards night - which will take place virtually for a second year running - on 25 June.

Jon Severs, Tes editor and chief judge of the Tes Schools Awards, said: “There has never been a more necessary time to celebrate the tireless efforts of those who work in schools.

“The past 12 months have put the profession on the front line of the pandemic, fighting for the pupils in their care and ensuring that children are learning despite the restrictions imposed on schools.

“It is also a crucial time to ensure innovation and best practice is shared as widely as possible. Teachers are under more pressure than ever before and workload is spiralling - the sharing of the best solutions to the most complex problems can help ease that strain.

“So the Tes awards take on an even bigger significance than usual in 2021, providing a very public recognition of the essential work of schools while helping the sector as a whole through the myriad and complicated problems it is facing.”
