Tes Timetable case studies

Santa Maria College is nestled in picturesque gardens overlooking the Swan River in Attadale, Western Australia and is a Years 5 – 12 Catholic school for girls, both day and boarding with 1280 students including 150 boarders. It seems like every school year brings with it new and interesting challenges. The introduction of Year 7 students to Clairvaux MacKillop College in 2015 was one of the biggest changes in the school’s history. Suffice to say, a lot of planning went into making the transition as smooth as possible for the staff and students.

NSW Department of Education Denison College of Secondary Education in Bathurst is a unique multi-campus structure and due to the breadth of curriculum offered requires innovative timetabling structures to enable students to access their preferred method of study across shared campus lines.

Technology has turned the arduous task of creating a timetable into a straight-forward, automated exercise. Mark Heaney, Deputy Principal and Timetabler, shares how his school benefits.

Ryan Catholic College adopted Tes Timetable in 2018 for the many benefits it would provide to the entire College community. Because it’s not just the Timetabler who has something to gain from Timetable, it’s also the administration department, the teaching staff, teacher aides as well as the students.

For 140 years, Christian Brothers College has enjoyed a reputation of excellence in boys education. For the first time in the College’s history, the decision was made to outsource their timetabling needs. With Tes Timetable’s assistance, this decision will help ensure the College continues to prosper long into the future.

Luke Harris first learned of Tes Timetable at a conference and was quick to see the opportunities it presented for his school to work smarter with their own timetable and class allocations. This was the beginning of some big changes at Warrnambool College and its growing student population.

In 2017, a major project conducted by the Catholic Schools Office, saw the transition of all their secondary schools in the region, 12 in total, to Tes Timetable. Liz Stokes, Education Officer Compass at the Catholic Schools Office for Maitland-Newcastle, supervised the project stating its goal was to ensure “the development of a community of excellence, building capacity and leadership within our network of schools”.

When St. Michael’s College first trialled Tes products in 2009, the results spoke for themselves and so began a timetabling revolution for the College. Nine years later, St. Michael’s is undergoing some big changes and once more, the Tes Timetable team is there to help.
