The latest acronym to appear on the Scottish education scene is AEDIPS which, readers will realise immediately, is the Association of Educational Development and Improvement Professionals Scotland. Fairly trips off the tongue.

Anyway, the group formerly known as education advisers, which meets today (Friday) for its annual conference, has gone all modern and set up a spanking new website - www.aedips.org.uk.

Alas, the various servers have not yet caught up with this innovation. So any search for AEDIPS prompts the query from Google: “Did you mean Oedipus?”

Trips off the mother tongue, one might say.
