Teaching posts are scarce in the area where I want to teach. I have seen some jobs I would like to apply for but am put off because I cannot offer everything the school is seeking. What should I do?
Most schools create a wish list, some parts of which are essential, others just desirable. When you send for the details, this should become apparent.
However, if you think you can fulfil the main requirements for the post, though not all the subsidiary ones, then I would still apply, and make clear what else you have to offer. After all, nothing ventured, nothing gained.
