Secondary students are being asked to learn and perform some of Shakespeare’s most famous monologues for a new competition. The BBC has launched a national recitation and performance contest called Off By Heart Shakespeare, which will see pupils competing in regional heats for a place in a grand final. The tournament will be filmed and aired as part of the BBC’s Shakespeare Season in 2012. Schools can register their interest at www.bbc.co.ukoffbyheart.
