Is it too late to nominate a candidate to replace Christine Gilbert at Ofsted?

Leah Miller, the 22-year-old woman who features on Channel 4‘s Amish: World’s Squarest Teenagers, spent a day attending lessons at Stowe School in Buckinghamshire. Her conclusion was, “I think the students’ main goal - and the teachers’ - is to get through the exams. I don’t know how serious they are about learning.”

What a concise analysis of the failings of this country’s education system. And Ms Miller is unlikely to charge the taxpayer #163;200,000 a year for her services.

Matthew Handy, Head of Mathematics, Dotmaths, Harrogate.
