Now that the Japanese are developing a “robot brain” to pass university entrance examinations (“The ‘robot brain’ that could win a place at university”, 29 November), will the Programme for International Student Assessment (Pisa) be replaced or at least complemented by the Programme for International Robot Assessment (Pira)? League tables for Pisa and Pira would doubtless be subject to tendentious comment by politicians. However, neither would be of much value to those of us concerned with enhancing the quality of education.
