The astronomer Fred Hoyle said that once he had learned his multiplication tables as a small child, the rest of his cosmological career was downhill all the way. Practise Times Tables is a set of books, one for key stage 1, two for the two halves of KS2, designed to make that accomplishment easier for everyone. There’s no escaping the essential repetition of the same few arithmetical facts, but author Andrew Brodie has done his best to provide variety using colouring, counting on, grids, speed trials, and giving answers in random order. Practise Times Tables (ages 5-7, 7-9, 9-11) each cost Pounds 2.99 with pull-out poster from A C Black.
