The Scottish Schools’ Athletic Association has changed the format of this year’s Gordon Woodlands National Scholarships, which provide backing for the two outstanding schools’ athletes of the year.

Last year each region was asked to put forward its top two athletes and then the two nationa winners (Chris Baillie of Clydebank High, West Dunbartonshire, and Collette Fagan of St Patrick’s High, North Lanarkshire) were announced. This year the top 26 athletes in Scottish schools’ competitions have been put forward. The two lucky athletes will be announced on September 14.
