In last week’s issue of The TES, a picture of Bexley business academy appeared adjacent to an article about claims that some city academies were trying to attract pupils from more middle-class areas. The Bexley business academy would like to make clear that it operates no such practice, and that the chief aim of its admissions policy is to attract students who live nearby in the deprived community of Thamesmead.
