In his editorial last week (“Is the EBC Mr Gove’s poll tax moment?”, 18 January), Gerard Kelly concisely summarises what is wrong with Michael Gove’s vision for education. Eradicating creativity and prescribing the mundane, refusing to work collaboratively and harking back to the 1950s seems to be his standard recipe. Mr Gove would appear to have a lot in common with Martin Powell-Davies (“Ding ding: round two of fight over strike action”, Letters, 18 January), except the latter would return to the 1920s and the General Strike. Perhaps both of them would benefit from speaking to a more representative group of classroom teachers.
