Say “the construction industry” and many people merely picture middle-aged men bulging over their jeans as they shift bricks. Creating a more truthful and positive image in the minds of KS3 pupils could win your school pound;50,000 worth of building work. Creative Spaces is a competition launched by the Construction Industry Training Board. The prize will go to the group submitting the best proposal for a project to improve their school’s built environment, and will enable them to see their design realised in solid material form. A curriculum pack is also available from the website. The closing date for the competition is April 2, 2004.
