Malvern Girls College has won the over-16 category and Sir Bernard Lovell Scholl, Bristol, the under-16 category in the interactive multimedia competition run by The TES and Radius in our January IT Review, Malvern’s Winning storyboard for a multimedia presentation was a tour of the college (called Encounter), while Sir Bernard Lovell School outlined a geography CD Rom which took the form of a computer game. Both schools win state-of-the-art Radius and Apple multimedia authoring technology (Apple Power Macs with Radius VideoSpigot video cards) plus a range of software. And Malvern also wins the opportunity to turn its presentation into a CD-Rom.

Multimedia CD-Rom publisher The First Information Group will help the pupils through the whole process until they have their own, finished product. The runners-up win software.

Pupils from the winning schools will attend a presentation at Pleat Hollywood, London, next week, Runners-up (over 16): South Thames College, London; Craigie High School, Dundee. Under-16: Hookergate School, Rowlands Gill, Tyne and Wear, Frank Wise School (for pupils with learning difficulties), Banbury, Oxfordshire, Specially commended under-16s; Maru-a-Pula School, Botswana; St Joseph’s School, Warrington, Cumbria; Lakenheath American Middle School, Norfolk.
