A bouquet for your report “So Sussex-ful” (TES, September 21) praising higher standards in across West Sussex. But a brickbat for describing Crawley as grim and merely serving Gatwick Airport.
A winner of “South East in Bloom”, Crawley’s open spaces are second to none. Our County Mall is the most popular shopping centre in the region and the Hawth is one of the best provincial theatres in the country. Unemployment is near-zero and 60 per cent of jobs are non-airport related.
Perhaps you should let your journalists out more - they’ll always find a warm welcome in Crawley.
