* The firm running Islington education authority has been fined again after failing to hit GCSE targets for the third year running.
CEA@Islington will lose half of the pound;908,480 fee it was due to receive for supporting the north London borough’s schools after 37.5 per cent of pupils achieved five Cs or better. That is 4.6 percentage points up on last year but still short of the 39 per cent target.
