Youthweb, a new website featuring animations, photo-stories and soundbites by young people has been launched at the National Space Centre in Leicester. The project was supported by Soft Touch, a local organisation that uses the arts and digital technology to give expression to marginalised groups of people. The student web authors, from two Leicester schools, Moat Community College and Rushey Mead Secondary, addressed topical issues concerning young people (particularly race and racism) in a site that “celebrates life in a vibrant, multi-cultural city from the point of view of a young person”.
