The number of teenage pregnancies in Britain has remained roughly the same over the last 20 years according to a report by the Family Policies Study Centre.
Ceridwen Roberts, the centre’s director said, “There are only one or two 12 year-old mothers each year, the vast majority of teenage mothers are 17, 18 or 19. Twenty years ago this would not have been considered too young to have children.”
The Government has summoned the editors of teen magazines to discuss how they can help reduce pregnancies among teenagers.
