Key stage 3. Imagine you are an expert in nanotechnology. What one invention of yours would be of the greatest benefit to the world? Entries should be judged by local business, a charity or a scientist. Pupils should give details of their invention and arguments for its being of the greatest benefit to the world.

Pupil groups research two areas of their choice, for example, GM crops, weapons of mass destruction, cloning, nanotechnology, and prepare a debate on the motion “science is all head and no heart”.
