What is it about good practice? How do we identify it, achieve it and share it? Online writers talked to a range of high achievers with feet firmly on the ground to try and strip away some of the mystique.Try it for yourself.
It’s not often that civil servants put their heads above the parapet.
Thankfully, one of them did in the recent High Court ruling concerning the Department for Education and Skills and Frontline Technology (holder of the patent for Bromcom’s schools attendance technology). In a landmark ruling (news page 4) Bromcom’s particular wireless technology remains protected while schools can freely use WiFi wireless technology to handle their pupil data.
The brave decision to challenge the original patent was taken by Colin Hurd, deputy divisional manager of ICT in Schools. It had a resounding result for schools wanting to maximise investments in wireless networking.
On behalf of them all, thank you Colin.
