VIDEO RELIEF

Comic Relief and BBC1‘s Live and Kicking programme are inviting young people in three age groups - 11 and under, 12-15, and 16-17 - to make a short video on a Comic Relief theme by April 1.

The best video will be shown on the Live and Kicking Red Nose Awards in May and prizes will include video-making equipment. For a documentary video pack and booklet, send SAE with 38p postage to: Video Relief, PO Box 8181, London W12 6LA.

POETRYDRAWING COMPETITION

Waterstone’s bookstores are fund-raising for Shelter Week by inviting children aged four-to-14 to submit an illustrated poem describing “What home means to you” by March 23. Judges include children’s writers and illustrators Brian Patten, Ian Beck, Colin McNaughton and Colin Hawkins. No entry fee but a Pounds 1 donation per entry is suggested. Prizes include Pounds 50 and Pounds 25 Waterstone’s vouchers. Entry forms from Waterstone’s branches.
