David Hargreaves, the man who cleverly bailed out as chief executive of the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority just before the A-level fiasco kicked off, has a new hat to wear. He has been appointed chair of Becta, the British Educational Communications and Technology Agency. Hargreaves says he is excited by the opportunity of championing ICT in education across the UK. If nothing else, he certainly knows a thing or two about timing.
