I have a deep regard for Baroness Mary Warnock and the links she made between the post-war years and the present age were apposite (“Finding hope in a new Age of Austerity”, March 26). However, I felt a sense of great unease that she was proposing children be divided into one of three streams at the age of 12. Isn’t 12 a bit early? And haven’t we been here before?
