UNITED STATES

A summer school had to be evacuated at Dimmitt middle school, Seattle, last week when a boy climbed onto a cafeteria table, pointed a gun at a girl and then fired a shot into the ceiling. No one was hurt.

The suspect, 13-year-old Josh Warnock, was described by relatives as an outgoing youngster who was upset ove having to attend a remedial summer programme. He is being investigated for assault with a firearm and reckless endangerment.

A second boy was arrested on suspicion of committing first-

degree assault and kidnapping. An attempt to gain control of the students in the cafeteria reportedly failed when 50 pupils fled.
