This book is aimed at a teenage audience and contains useful information about dyslexia and dyspraxia. It includes advice and quizzes on self-organisation, exam revision and learning styles, and gives a list of websites and contacts.
The content is interesting and informative. It could be useful to parents or teachers but is unlikely to appeal to teenagers as the presentation is uninspiring. Dyslexic students struggle to read, so anything aimed at them needs to be attractive and lively with colour, diagrams and cartoons breaking up the writing. This book fails to meet these criteria. The cover is drab and many pages are too full of text. The line drawings are sparse and dull and the paper quality feels rough. My 18-year-old dyslexic son’s verdict was “Too many words, too few pictures.”
