THE traditional family meal around a table is in decline according to research by the

Chicago Pizza Town Chain.

It found that only 9 per cent of families in the UK ate a meal together every ay - although a quarter do so a number of times a week.

Twenty-four per cent of people questioned did not own a dining table and one in 20 said they never gathered together for a meal.
