Education spend doubles since 1988

UK public spending on education and training has more than doubled in real terms in the past two decades, according to the Office for National Statistics. In 201011 the total was #163;87 billion, a rise from #163;43 billion in 198788. The study found that per-pupil spending in England in 200910 was #163;5,956 per pupil, but in Wales the figure stood at #163;5,429, nearly 9 per cent lower.
