The UK’s first multiple schools wireless network has gone online in Oxford. Called Konnect21, it is a partnership between six primary schools and one secondary in Kidlington - Gosford Hill, North Kidlington, Edward Feild, Dr South’s, St Thomas More, West Kidlington and Woodeaton Manor and local IT companies including Community Internet plc and RM. To help schools extend their network into the community, RM is offering free RM Personal Information Connection (PIC) server software and one client licence with any purchase of RM Connect server software and hardware in autumn. RM PIC gives secure access to the school network and intranet from home.
