APRIL 15-26. MEET THE TRAVELLERS’ SCHOOL CHARITY. The TSC will be at venues in Cosham (Hampshire), Brighton, Camden (London NW1), Nottingham, Norwich, Manchester, Wrexham, Wolverhampton and Glastonbury. Travellers, children, teachers and students are welcome. There will be professional workshops for Pounds 10 bookable in advance, and a resources display with activity books, summer workpacks, reading books, and leaflets on such topics as teaching at home, teaching reading, and choosing a school. APRIL 19 (8 PM) AND MAY 16 (SCHOOLS’ MATINEE, 1.30 PM). BANANAS. Storyteller Tuup interweaves archive film with dance and juggling from The Gandinis and music from Shiva Nova at the Queen Elizabeth Hall and Purcell Room, South Bank, London SE1 respectively. The musicians are from Asian, African, Caribbean jazz and western classical backgrounds. Workshops are available to go into schools, April 29-May 4. APRIL 19. ORAL WORK IN THE CLASSROOM. Pupils from James Allen Preparatory and Dulwich College Preparatory Schools present their work, assessed by the English Speaking Board. Details: Merriel Hallsall-Williams, 01691 690 483 telfax.

APRIL 30. MANAGEMENT OF EXAMINATION AND TRAINING. A free briefing particularly aimed at organisations involved in NVQ management organised by Hamlet Computer Group at the Regency Suite, London Zoo, W1. Speakers include: Frank Stoner, adviser, Department for Education and Employment, Rhian Chilcott, training policy adviser, Confederation of British Industry, and Paul Duffin, technical director, HCG, on how the computer can help.
