UNTIL FEBRUARY 4 CREATIVE ARTWORKS EXHIBITION BY CHILDREN Westbury Park School children aged four to 11 are presenting a range of 3D models, paintings, pastels, crayon and pencil drawings, inspired by artists such as Picasso, Monet, Toulouse-Lautrec, Gaugin and Gainsborough, at The Bristol Guild of Applied Art, Park Street. FROM PENTELICON TO THE PARTHENON Free exhibition to mark the opening of The Foundation for Hellenic Culture, 60 Brook Street, London W1. It includes drawings by Greek architect Manolis Korres telling the story of an 11-ton Doric column capital’s transfer from the quarries of Mount Pentelicon to the Acropolis, and the methods devised by the ancient Greeks to transport great blocks of marble to build their temples. THE REVIVAL OF THE PALLADIAN STYLE:LORD BURLINGTON AND HIS HOUSE AND GARDEN AT CHISWICK The design of Chiswick House, which is based on Roman antiquity and an understanding of Palladio’s work, influenced the architecture of this country. This exhibition at the Royal Academy of Arts, Piccadilly, London W1 follows Lord Burlington’s vision using paintings, drawings, prints, models and video. School group bookings: 0171 494 5733.
